During the ICDE World Conference on Online Learning that took place from October 16 to 19 in Toronto, Canada, I had the honor of getting to know the institutions and leaders of Ibero-America on distance and online education. I want to share with the academic community the contributions that this region is making, the collaborative works that are happening, and the networks that exist. This blog is my chance to express my appreciation for these institutions.

Within the framework of the event, the 25th anniversary of the UNESCO / UNITWIN Chairs Program was held, where Universidad de la Rioja (Spain) was one of the organizers and presented the paper “Integration of formal and informal learning as a crash solution in Education. The What? Where? Why? How? of OER”. In that same event, Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico), presented the project “Open courses (micro & MOOC) and open access”, a project which demonstrated some ideas on how experts could collaborate in the areas of MOOCs.
